We loved the property, staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was more than we anticipated but we loved it. We have been travelling on a road trip so have stayed in a fair few hotels and property and here was one of the best nights sleep we both had! Would recommend.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.

Sometimes I wonder if the guest paid any attention to the LOCATION of the guest house in Oxford where they had chosen to stay. Take note – I said, “they”! Nobody coaxed them to choose this particular location? They chose it because it suited their needs!
Most people who are not in the hospitality industry do not understand that giving a low score for the location of a guest house in Oxford has a damning effect on the overall score of the property. Since reviews are now the guru for all choices we make, they are condemning a guest house in Oxford for a choice they themselves made! To first choose to stay at a property because of their own personal parameters and then give a damning score of 7.5 out of 10 or even less is simply being irresponsible and unfair!
I totally agree that when we visit an accommodation in Oxford or, any other city that calls to us, we should be able to freely voice our personal opinion based on our experience versus our expectation. However, when it comes to the LOCATION, I as the manager of a guest house in Oxford would urge my guests to be very mindful as to where they have decided to stay. Location must not be scored on whether or not the property they chose to stay in is in the City Centre! If guests choose to stay in the centre of the city they need to accept the prices that guest houses in Oxford city centre demand.
Reviews have become a large part of how we all decide how to spend our money. We read the views of others and then make our decisions based on what resonates with our personal opinion. This works well in many circumstances and indeed for many products we invest in. We are asked to give a score for our experience and our views. This is all well except when it comes to the location of our guest house in Oxford and I hope guests will be a little more mindful when they score a property for LOCATION!
