Lots of buses go straight past the hotel to the city so the car stayed parked for all of our visit. Also a lovely walk by the canal is another alternative route in. The room had lots of space and all the facilities in the kitchen we needed, though some larger mugs would be good! Would come again.

We felt most welcome at the Marlborough House Hotel: Very comfortable & well-appointed room for a family visit with an Oxford student - the kitchenette was so appreciated, enabling us to have snacks & relax together without needing to go out to eat - plenty of space for the 3 of us, and cosy beds for peaceful sleep. Although there were no parking spaces available on the hotel drive we parked easily & for free on the adjacent road, and the bus stops are very close by so transport was hassle-free.We will definitely be back!

MHH is in a quiet part of Oxford and staying there is very relaxing with parking onsite and plenty of buses into the centre of town. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed, spacious, and quiet with plenty of hot water.We really enjoyed our stay when visiting our son and we recommend it highly as a pleasant, good value guesthouse.

We had an engineer stay a week of so ago, as we are installing air con within a shop in the city centre. As he had such a great experience, we booked to stay again this week for another 3 engineers. The location is excellent for our needs.The actual accommodation our engineers reported as very comfortable with great amenities onsite.Best recommendation we can give is to say we would most definitely stay again - for business or leisure!

Expect a lovely warm welcome at Marlborough House Hotel. Our rooms were homely, spacious and comfortable. Avoid the city centre traffic chaos by being a little on the edge of town at a location with plenty of parking. Bus links into the centre are excellent. A short walk across from Woodstock Road to Summertown if you want some local shopping and cafes.

All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly and the room is very comfortable and spacious. The kitchenette with microwave and fridge is very useful and the bathroom is great. The shops, restaurants and cafes of Summertown are just a short walk from the hotel.

An excellent stay in a very friendly hotel. We stayed over for 2 nights, could not have asked for more friendly or helpful staff. We met at least 3 and all were cheerful and had lots of knowledge about restaurants/walks/buses for the area. The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean and the kitchenette idea worked really well for us,everything we needed for our stay was available. The room felt very cosy and homely. Highly recommend this hotel for location to the city as on a good bus route. Will be staying again as so happy with it.

We had a lovely room at the Marlborough House Hotel for our family trip. The room was spacious, had a small kitchen and seating area. The hosts offer laundry service which was very helpful as we were touring England for almost 3 weeks. The neighborhood was quiet and we were in walking distance to Summertown. Marlborough House Hotel is truly lovely in every way - from the layout and comfort of the rooms, to the personnel that one interfaces with. I stayed 6 nights. Friendly and helpful desk staff and cleaning staff. Room spacious, clean, quiet (I was in the annex off Woodstock Road) buses to Oxford central conveniently close. The parking is free and a valuable feature. The. Space is rather confined but I was always able to find a parking place. The entry to parking from Woodstock is rather narrow and I scraped the side of my car on the brick wall. Rubber bumpers might be a good feature. If I am back in Oxford will return.

Room is spacious and clean, just the stuff are a bit aged. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is not located close to the town centre however the bus stop is just one minute walk out of the hotel, and the route can bring you to George Street (town centre) in around 10 mins which is fab. It would be perfect if the baby cot can be provided for free.

I loved Marlborough House for its location. After a week as a student with the Oxford Experience Summer School I stayed on for 5 days but could not find a place in city center. After the density of people, tourists, buses, shops, students, shoppers it wasa relief to come to the ranquil Sommertown area.Ten-15 walk from the B and B took me to a typical English high street --several blocks of local shops and restaurants. Peaceful. Local. Frequent buses into Oxford City Center madhouse and back to calm.

We had the absolute pleasure to spend five nights at Marlborough House. From the first greeting to our final goodbye our hosts and all of their staff were an absolute delight. We had many questions about local sight seeing and dining, and nothing was too much trouble, they were available and more than happy to supply the information. Our room was lovely with plenty of room and a kitchenette that was very useful. If ever we return to this area I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. We are very happy to recommend this lovely guest house.

Great stay and just a short bus ride from Oxford city center. Anita was super welcoming, and held my luggage until my requested check-in time around 2pm/14:00 local. She gave me directions to nearby Summertown where I found a local coffee shop/restaurant for lunch. I was in-town for a conference and the room was the perfect size with kitchenette (fridge, electric kettle, microwave), double bed, hair dryer just as described in the listing. The room and hotel were also very clean. It was easy to unwind at the end of each day. Check-out was a breeze too. Thank you Anita and Marlborough House!

We stayed for two nights and were impressed by the attention to comfort by the owners. We got the breakfast offered, which is a continental breakfast, and it was massive, with breads, cereals, cheeses, fruits, milk and juice. We didn't even make a dent in it! There were two comfortable chairs in our room, comfortable beds and plenty of storage space for our clothes. We would definitely stay again. Book direct and save.

We have just spent a few very enjoyable days in Oxford staying at Marlborough House. It suited us perfectly as it was quiet, clean and friendly.The accommodation is cosy and traditional in its decor and there was a lounge with games, interesting books and a piano if one wanted some extra entertainment. Its location was ideal for us as the bus stop in to Oxford is just outside with frequent busses even at the weekend. Within a ten minute walk there are shops and restaurants in Summertown and I can recommend the Italian Mama Mia.We will definitely return.

On arrival I was shown my room by the manager, Mr Kavita Pal, everything was explained including the out of hours main outside entrance. It was peaceful and relaxing calm and quiet in my room. I ordered a continental breakfast, what an array of morning food and drink that was supplied, I have never been treated to such a choice, fantastic. The whole experience was top class and I hope that there will be a room for me when I next travel to Oxford.

Although the B&B is on a main road, it is not that noisy (we were there Friday & Saturday night).Great location to get a bus into Oxford.Nice walks not far away along the Oxford Canal.Room spacious and clean, withvery useful kitchenette (microwave) and crockery/cutlery.Pleasant and welcoming owner.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights over the Easter week-end at the Marlborough Guest House in a lovely quiet room turned towards the garden with sun in the morning in the bathroom and sun in the afternoon in the bedroom/living room. The little kitchen corner makes it possible to have breakfast or to warm up prepared meals in this room. There are many bus stops either in Woodstock road or a few yards further eastwards in Bunbury road to go the center of Oxford. The little town, Summertown, is only a 10 minutes walk from the Marlborough Guest House, where you find all kind of shops and restaurants. We had a warm welcome, in the same spirit as the yogalike ornate rooms, with clean relaxing colours and items. I highly recommand this place.

We're stayed here while visiting our son and having a look around the beautiful city of Oxford. The guest house is ideally situated just a short walk from the high st of summertown where there are lovely shops cafes restaurants. Bus stop just across road for direct travel into town. It worked perfectly for our trip and was very reasonably priced. Just what we needed.

The hotel was perfect for us. It's nicely appointed, clean, and the breakfast was ample--it fed us for 3 days! We aren't used to getting about on public transit, but the bus stops nearby made it convenient to get into the town center in a few minutes.

I stayed here for a weekend break, and found it a good base for a visit to Oxford: comfortable, immaculately clean, and with very pleasant staff. My room was a 'small double', which was fine for me; if you are travelling as a couple I would suggest a larger room. Although my room was at the front of the building, it was remarkably quiet, and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. A key feature of the hotel is that rooms are provided with kitchenettes including refrigerators; I didn't make much use of this as I ate out with friends, but it would have been welcome for a longer stay or in hot weather. The hotel doesn't offer cooked breakfasts (to me, a small drawback), but does offer to deliver a Continental breakfast to be eaten in the room. If travelling by car, the hotel is easy to get to from the ring road, and there is a frequent bus service to and from the city centre (about two miles away). I felt comfortable staying here as a single female traveller, and would certainly consider staying here again on a similar occasion.

A spacious comfortable room with good facilities - particularly nice to be able to breakfast to one's own schedule. Blenheim Room ground floor is good for a wheelchair although having a fellow-traveller will assist in negotiating the front doorstep and the slight height difference between the public pavement and the outside path.

We had a lovely stay at Marlborough House. We were in Oxford to see our daughter whose college annex is just down the road, so this was the perfect place for us. The bed was comfortable and it was great to have facilities like a fridge and kitchenette that you often don’t get in a hotel room. There’s a bus stop just a minute away with buses into Oxford every 10 minutes. Location wise, Marlborough House is perfect. We ordered the breakfast, which was continental with a great selection of goodies, and it was a real bonus to be able to get up and have breakfast in our room in our pyjamas. If you want comfort, convenience, free parking and great value, then don’t hesitate to book Marlborough House, today.

My second visit here, previously stayed with my 2 daughters (triple room) This timewith my elderly mother (twin room) for 2 nights. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Kitchenette and dining furniture made it ideal to heat up food for a light meal to save dining out all the time. Nice bathroom with good shower and enormous bath. Clean and comfortable. We did overheat the first night as hadn’t realised we could turn down the radiator 😁 Bus stop for town centre buses just across the road. My spacious room was well furnished and spotlessly clean with an en-suite bath/shower room, generous towels and complementary toiletries. Also a kitchenette with fridge, sink, some crockery, glass and cutlery and - wow! a cafetiere! Raj was a charming and helpful host. What's not to like? Very little. The manager is very informative and responsive. We arrived on Christmas when most stores and restaurants were closed. The manager provided us suggestions on where we could find nice food. We were greeted on check-in and taken to our room by a very friendly reception team, we asked advice on how to reach the town centre by walking and also later for our evening event with friends locally.As a result we had a lovely walk down the canal into town and then had a taxi arranged for us for later that evening to go to our event.The room was very well equipped with modern needs and plenty to power points for chargers, etc, also well stocked on toiletries, the bed was comfortable and the whole room was very clean.Breakfast was also already laid out in our room and provided in the fridge ready for the following morning and saving us time before we departed home.All-in-all a quaint, friendly, clean, and professionally run establishment, a lovely 30 minutes stroll into town (and on the main bus route), in a very lovely area of Oxford, felt very safe and very cosy.

I loved my stay at Marlborough House Hotel. I lived in a cute, compact apartment with everything I needed for my one-week stay on a business trip. There was a little kitchen, fridge, table, closet, clean bathroom, and comfortable bed. The hotel staff was helpful and kind via email and at the place. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, 45 minutes walk or 20 minutes ride by bus to the city center. The bus stop is just 2 minutes from the hotel. Near by (a 10-minute walk), there is a shopping area (Summertown Shops) where you can find supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and more you might need. I would recommend booking your stay in this hotel!

Location was fine just outside Oxford. Bus stop is just outside the guest house.Room was large clean, lovely and everything seemed to be newley decorated. Marlborough House B&B was the best choice for me. The room was clean and very cozy, I loved having a kitchenette in my room and it was supplied with a wonderful choice of breakfast items daily. The staff were very helpful to all my requests and questions. My room was quiet and not on the main road. I chose this place because of its proximity to my auntie and it was just a short bus ride to the city center. I absolutely will be staying there on my next visit and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced accommodations.

Marlborough House is such a lovely, inviting place to stay. It is calm and the room we had was spacious for the three of us (2 adults + child). Enjoyed our stay at Marlborough House very clean and nice big bedroom.Good location and lovely canal walk into Oxford.Worth doing a Walking Tour as lots of history to take in. Booked a lovely room at Marlborough house for a “daddy and daughter” weekend in Oxford. It’s a little further out than Summertown but easy to get into the city centre with a short bus ride. The room was very spacious, well-appointed and quiet. Overall a perfect place to stay if you don’t mind being a couple of miles outside of the city centre (where room prices will make you weep).

Room was tidy and comfortable, and the microwave oven proved to be useful for preparing marinated/cooked meats bought nearby. Staff was warm and friendly. While this guesthouse is rather far from the city center, this is amply compensated for by the idyllic scenery along the canal.

Close to the City Center, (10 minutes by bus, which stops almost right outside the front door), but far enough away to be out of the crowds.Beautiful, clean room with super comfortable beds.Nice continental breakfast with lots of choices, plenty of milk provided for cereal, juice, tea, etc.Also had a good fridge and microwave.AND, onsite parking!!!!We were met by the lovely Anita and, the next day, met Kavita, the Manager. We stayed here as a prelude to our son moving into one of the Oxford colleges. The location made this convenient without the high cost of the central Oxford hotels! The staff were really friendly and helped us out with all our questions and requests. I would say just two things to be aware of: the reception desk closes at 7:30pm, so plan accordingly. Also the continental breakfast is nothing to write home about but does include fresh milk and orange juice. Room was spacious and comfortable and there are actually some good restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

The room was very good and spacious, a comfy bed, good bathroom with shower, excellent TV, kitchen with fridge and microwave. A little too far out to easily walk but on a bus route into the city. Nice helpful staff and a substantial continental breakfast provided overnight to your room.There is some on-site parking but a bit tight to get in and out, especially if you have a big car. Fortunately there is some very convenient on-street parking just round the corner and we preferred to park there.All in all, very positive, we will certainly be back.

Having stayed here a few times, I can fully recommend a stay.Friendly welcome or if you turn up late, simple instructions to find the keys and let yourself in.Never struggled to park outside.Rooms always clean and comfortable with a subtle hint to environmental consciousness and a spiritual calm.Walking distance from many places to eat, good place to run, safe quiet area.Lots to choose from for breakfast and a mini bar if you fancy something extra.No complaints at all and I will stay again.

Gracious hosts, a clean, comfortable room, and the accessibility of busses into the city centre made this a good place to stay. On the other hand be prepared for excessive charges for early check in, parking after check out, and if you didn’t book directly with the B&B, a substandard breakfast will cost you over £12. Even if you book directly the breakfast isn’t worth it - instant coffee and prepackaged store-bought pastries just don’t cut it.

There is a variety of breakfast items which includes a selection of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit,cheeses, rolls, orange juice, milk, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and preserves available on the tray and most guests are able to find something they enjoy in the breakfast tray. This choice is offered complimentary with our direct bookings and at a cost of £12.50 for all bookings made via Online Travel Agencies where we offer a Room Only Rate and the reason for this being that we pay a commission of 18% and this is on top of the VAT rate of 20%. We had a wonderful three week stay here.The rooms are comfortable and clean, the garden area is very nice and relaxing.The included in-room breakfast (for direct bookings) was just perfect for us - fresh fruit, porridge oats, cereal, milk, orange juice, croissants, yogurt, assorted cheeses, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, assorted teas. The room has a mini-fridge, microwave and tea kettle, plates, bowls, cups, utensils. The bedroom and bathroom have openable windows for cross-ventilation.The bathroom was very clean, the beds comfortable. This is a family-run B&B and the staff are all friendly and take care of things promptly.They will do a load of laundry for you but the price is steep - 30 pounds.The direct booking price of 110 pounds/night is quite a bargain for Oxford.It's a 12-minute walk to the very nice canal path, 10-minute walk to the Summertown shopping area, a 30-minute walk to the city center, and there are plenty of buses to the center, too, right on Woodstock road.It was much quieter here, farther from the center.The WIFI was somewhat flaky from our top-floor room, often fading in and out.

This was a great find. Very reasonably priced with clean rooms and with the added bonus of a small kitchenette. For those wanting to venture into Oxford, buses stop opposite the hotel and it's about a 15-20 minute journey.Just a few things to be aware of. The room was actually on the side road with a parking space right outside the door. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. For information for other visitors, the kitchenette did not have a hob, only a microwave, and there wasn't a toaster. That scuppered plans for bacon and egg on toast for breakfast but it's not a complaint, it's just for information.

Our room, a superior double, and its en-suite were clean and well-sized and provided with a kitchenette, which was a good feature. We had asked for a quiet room, but this one faced directly onto the main (Woodstock) road - not too bad because the weather was cool enough that we didn't need to open the window.The person who greeted us was very pleasant and friendly.The quilt on the bed was too heavy for a summer night.The breakfast was already in the room when we arrived for our one-night stay. It included a good selection of fruit (including prepared melon in the fridge), a generous bottle of orange juice and a selection of other breakfast food to choose from.

On arrival I was welcomed by Anita a good jolly lady . The room was very clean bed very comfortable wish I could fit it my car for home. There was a table two chairs a small kitchen inside the room There was fruit, breakfast, yogurt juice, tea ,coffee and even beer in the fridge. The location is great and quiet with a nice area to have a walk…. a nose around. The only minor issue was the TV signal wasn’t great but I was out mostly.

The twin-bedded room we stayed in was spacious and well appointed. Hanging space was provided by a large free-standing wardrobe with ample hangars and there were multiple well-sized drawers. The beds were comfortable and each has its own bedside cabinet and lamp. the kitchenette was clean, had a near-silent refrigerator and a good range of items provided for breakfast in the room (including a plate of fresh watermelon). The one slight downside was that our room (room 4) was a little dark, as the surrounding trees shade it very effectively. However, this also meant that the room remained cool even on a very hot day.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The host was kind and welcoming and the room was huge. The beds were comfortable and we had the windows open all night (as it was a hot one) but the nearby road was relatively quiet for a Saturday night. This is the fifth (I think) time I’ve stayed here. It’s a tremendous hotel. Very well appointed and all like new. We stayed here just for the one night because of seeing Lionel Richie at Blenheim Palace on 15/6/2023. What can I say? First impressions count and on this occasion they did. From the moment we arrived it was obvious that customer service is a high priority here. Our welcome from Kavitel was warm and friendly and he showed us to our room, not something that happens much these days. The room was clean and comfortable and fairly spacious. What makes Marlborough House unique is the kitchenette facility in the rooms which is so useful, you can eat breakfast when you like, in your pyjamas if you want! And if you want to make yourself a light supper after a day's sightseeing then you can. A continental breakfast is included when booking direct with the hotel and I must say how generous it was, lots of fresh fruit, yogurts, croissants, juice, cereals, fresh milk etc. Excellent!The location is very good, bus stop just across the road with frequent buses straight into the city centre, a bonus as driving or parking in Oxford is a nightmare.

We were delighted to find a comfortable room with facilities to make a cup of tea or coffee. So useful having a fridge especially now the weather is warming up.during our first evening we discovered the television wasn't working properly so we asked the Manager to help. He couldn't get it working either so he called Anita back.What a star.. having worked a full day she came to help even though she has a young son who didn't want Mummy to leave again. Anita spent almost an hour setting and re setting the television and eventually had itworking.We aren't television addicts but its good to watch the news. So - fourth time we have stayed here - this time just me and my 19yr old daughter (returning back to uni - we live too far away to travel there and back in a day). The hotel is very well appointed, has great beds (very comfy) and they do doubles, twins and triple rooms - great. I really can't praise this place highly enough (although I'm going to try!). My wife and I stumbled upon the Marlborough House Hotel by sheer chance, which was a very lucky accident. Our room was spacious, warm, well-furnished, clean and great value for money. The hosts are excellent, friendly people, and best of all, focused on meditation and yoga. The overall effect is to promote a very welcoming and peaceful atmosphere for guests. The location is also very convenient for walking into the centre of town. In future we will never stay anywhere else when visiting Oxford!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel from the moment I called up to double check I could have a late check in to when I left feeling warm from the kindness and from genuine joy that was expressed from the staff that worked there. They clearly love what they do and you can tell from how you are cared for right from the get go.The room was clean, roomy and full of culture. It wasn’t overly furnished but it was functional and practical. I only stayed one night but I would happily visit here again without thinking if I was to be visiting Oxford. The mood lamps, the view of the garden, the kitchenette with everything you could ever want. The only thing, that would possibly make it better is if there was the option to have a fry up but I’m pretty sure there are other rooms available where that is an option. I slept warm, comfortably and soundly, there was toiletries, fresh towels, blankets and extra things such as hairdryers. They really considered everything. An excellent location for activities in central Oxford. One can park on site & use the frequent buses into the city. The hotel was comfortable & had a useful mini kitchen with microwave. If it's possible, I would welcome a small toaster as well. The room was spotless. A good place to stay.

We have stayed here quite a few times now as our daughter is at university in Oxford. The hotel is perfectly placed, just ten minutes and one bus ride outside of the town centre. The facilities are fabulous, its clean (spotless), tidy and has all recently been done up to a high standard. there is a choice of double or twin rooms and even a three bed family room which is great. The breakfast that the hotel provides is something we look forward to every time. A great hotel.

We stayed 4 nights in Marlborough House Hotel. We ha a beautiful room, spotless. We had a kitchenette which was very well stocked daily with everything we needed for a good wholesome breakfast. Staff were very friendly. We didn't need a car as the bus to and from the city stopped across the road and it was just a short spin into the city. For a single night's stay, this was spot on. Two of us and 14-year old daughter were warmly greeted on arrival, the room was convenient and comfortable, and everything worked. I needed a last minute stay in Oxford and this was perfect. Its clean, sizable room, and cosy. It’s convenient to walk to summertown (10min) or take the bus to Oxford central (10min). The hotel manager is very pleasant and kind as well and allowed me to be flexible with my stay. I’ve stayed at many places in Oxford but would like to return to this one next time :)

The room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers were bigger than usually they are. Small kitchenette was useful. As we were in November, I was afraid that there might be cold room, but radiators were warm and room was cozy.This hotel is not in the Oxford centre, but if you like to walk, then it is very ok to stay here. Also very near is groceries and cafe/bar places.

After a last minute change to our travels plans we contacted Marlborough House same day to see if they could accommodate us and another traveler that evening. They immediately agreed and offered us a spacious room that was perfect for a family with young children and a separate nice room for the other traveler in our party. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The big table and chairs and kitchenette, along with breakfast provisions, microwave and mini fridge proved convenient.We took the bus outside directly into Oxford and were able to park in the lot outside the B&B.

This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel. It is fabulous. The property is spotless and really well kept, the rooms are lovely and have plenty of space. The fact that the rooms have a little kitchenette and a great, help your self breakfast (and a nice one at that!) is just perfect. It is a well thought out hotel with a great approach.In terms of location, it is just on the outskirts of Oxford city centre, a ten minute bus ride or 40 minute walk into town. I stayed at the Marlborough House Hotel for three nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is about 12 minutes from the city center, the bus stops 50 meters from the entrance. My room on the top floor was clean, tidy and looked out onto the lovely back garden. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. I even had a bathtub and there are lovely bath-bombs for sale at the reception. There's a little kitchenette with a microwave, tea kettle, fridge and sink so you can have a coffee/tea and even warm up leftovers from the delicious restaurants in town. A 1st class hotel on our first visit to Oxford. The owners were very polite and friendly and made our stay very welcoming. Would I stay here again? 10000% Yes. An absolute delight. Room was very spacious and neat and tidy, Bed very comfortable, Shower needs a small adjustment, but still works fine. Guest lounge is great if your wife is sleeping and you don't want to disturb her making morning tea . A short walk to a busy area called Summertown, which is bustling with restaurants and shops. I loved this hotel in Summer Town. The room was extremely homely and has the advantage of a kitchenette for preparing simple meals and breakfast. Bed very comfortable. We just had a wonderful three night stay at Marlborough House. The room was so spacious- we were. A party of three and there was plenty of room. We were a short bus ride to Oxford. We have stayed closer in before but really loved the quiet of being in this area. If you book directly you are delivered a generous continental breakfast to your room. All rooms have a dining area, sink and fridge. Bathrooms are clean and newly renovated. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. All said it was better than we expected and we would stay again.

Number 11, good spacious room. Notably very clean, excellent kitchenette. The kitchen was one of the main reasons for our choice.Here are 3 suggestions for the bathroom (please treat this a constructive criticism). Shower head needs attention, a solid handhold is needed on the wall above the bath. Similarly, a solid handhold is needed higher up the wall for use when showering. We stayed as a family of four in the family room with kitchenette when we were in Oxford for two nights for our son's graduation. The room suited us perfectly and was beautifully clean and comfortable, with a spotless modern bathroom. We arrived after checkout closed the first evening, but we had been sent the code for the key safe outside so were easily able to access our key. Once we had our key, we could come and go as we pleased. We really appreciated the continental breakfast which was provided in the room for us - cereals, croissants, fruit, cheese and porridge which we could make ourselves in the microwave. There was tea, coffee and fresh juice too, and it was great to have fresh milk in the fridge. We were able to leave our car parked in front of the hotel and take the bus into the city from the bus stop almost opposite the hotel - it was only about a ten-minute journey, so very convenient. We were so pleased we booked here, it really suited us perfectly. If you're making a booking, it's worth booking directly as you get the best price and breakfast is included.

The rooms are very clean and roomy. With opened in the evening it is nice andcool in the summer. The owner and host mrs Kavita is a kind, spiritual and committed person. Her staff has service high in standard. The house is in approx 7 minutes walk from a nice local shopping area and by 12 minutes bus ride from Oxford centre. We have had a lovely stay. B&B Guest House with large comfortable room.Breakfast is continental style, left in your room. Nice location and warm welcome.About a 40 minute picturesque walk into the centre of Oxford along the canal tow path, but there are a few restaurants and shops closer. There is a bus stop very close with a frequent bus that takes 10 minutes into centre if you don't fancy driving in. We would certainly have no hesitation in booking again when in the area.

The breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, cereals, fresh orange juice and pastries. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel and room were very clean. As our room was at the front of the house there was a lot of road noise (although it did quieten down at night and did not keep us awake) so if we stayed again we would ask for a room facing the back or side road.

Free parking space at hotel. Friendly reception and welcome. Provided with overview of area and local knowledge where restaurants, shops and bars are nearby in Summertown. Recommended walk by canal to get in to centre as alternative to walk down Woodstock Road. We did the canal walk on the way in which was cooler in the heat. Room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Fridge, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, plates cups and cutlery all provided which enabled us to comfortably eat in one evening. Room was large and airy. Continental breakfast was excellent with a good range of food. This was delivered to the room each day. Bath and shower room well equipped with soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. We were very pleased with our stay and can recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst walking Thames Path. Proximity to Summertown was perfect for eating out in the evening without the need to drive or bus. Attending a course near by I needed a place to stay. Very friendly welcome. Hosts dealt with my dietary requirements (coeliac) without an issue. The option of being able to have breakfast in my room was a good one for me and I was also able to have a meal in the room in the evening. Large MnS food store 10/15 minutes walk away. Fridge and microwave available. No toaster, but I would not have used it due to my condition. Very pleased to have a fan. I would definitely stay again.Suggestions: would benefit from a bathmat/ may have been one but I couldn't find it.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the Marlborough House Hotel and it was the second time we have stayed there. We liked the informal nature of the hotel and having breakfast provided in our room was ideal for us. The breakfast was included in the price, as we booked direct with the hotel. On one very hot day, when we didn't want to go out for dinner, we were able to buy some salad from the nearby Tesco Express and have a relaxing meal in our room, which had a kitchenette. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet area near Summertown. There is a bus stop opposite and it is an easy 5-minute bus ride down Woodstock Road into the city centre. We would definitely stay there again.

Quietest, most comfortable sleep I've had in a long time. Immaculately clean and well-appointed rooms. Instant hot water with excellent water pressure. The proprietors and staff were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend Marlborough House! (We stayed six nights in rooms 9, 10, and 11.) Also, the bus stop is super convenient--just steps away and a straight shot into Oxford Center. Short walk to Plough Pub and a great tapas restaurant (latter in Summertown, a c. 15 m. walk).

There is free parking for about 5 cars and a lovely garden at the back. We found the room well appointed and spacious, the bed comfortable and breakfast was complimentary when booking direct.Kavita is a wonderful hostess whose love for the place is evident in little details that only add to the overall homey feel. I had the most enjoyable comfortable stay at Marlborough Guest House. From the moment I walked through the door, Kavita made me feel very welcome. The bed was large and very comfortable, the room was spacious and suited my being able to work from here, clean bathroom and a 45 minute walk/8 minute bus ride to the city. I'll be staying here many times in the future.

We needed to stay overnight in Oxford before an open day at the university. The Marlborough House Hotel was in a convenient location and our 2 rooms were very comfortable. For us, having breakfast provided in our rooms was very convenient and more than adequate. By booking direct, the breakfast was included in the price. We would definitely stay there again.

This is a clean, comfortable and welcoming place to stay with polite and helpful staff. The kitchenette within the room makes life simple and the location (5 minute bus or taxi ride, or 15 minute walk) to tge city centre is perfect for a lovely weekend break.

This is the second time we have stayed here. This time, as we were travelling with our daughter, we stayed run the Triple Room. It was enormous, had 3 great beds (2 singles and 1 double), a kitchenette and a table and chairs. The breakfast goods were amazing, lots to choose from and great that we could sort ourselves out in our room in our own time. A really nice hotel, very clean and ver comfortable. Also handy for the bus into Oxford.

This tranquil, family-run hotel exceeded my expectations and was a real pleasure to stay in. The staff are very welcoming and kind. The room was large, quiet, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed, including self-catering features such as a kettle, fridge, sink, dishes and utensils, and a pleasant table to eat at. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. This is perfect for solitary travellers or families, and longer-stay visitors who don’t want to eat out all the time. There are frequent, easy to use buses to the centre of Oxford (or a half-hour walk down the nearby canal footpath, parts of which are really beautiful).I am hoping to return on any future visit to Oxford and will recommend it to friends.

This is my go-to place when travelling to Oxford - it is immaculately clean, friendly service and the rooms are so well equipped. The on-site parking is welcome and it's a comfortable walk into Jericho. I look forward to my next stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff, a spacious room with the added benefit of a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was great, a fantastic fruit selection, croissants, cereals, muffins, yoghurts and fresh orange juice and decent coffee.

Friendly staff and a helpful host. I have stayed many times and have always enjoyed my stay. As usual the room was comfortable and clean which was pleasantly heated. A good breakfast selection was provided and topped up each day of my stay.The hotel is on a regular bus route and certainly ideal base for visiting Oxford.

Nice room size and comfortable. Staff is friendly. However we checked in very late in the evening and we thought the check out time was 11 AM which is standard but the check out time was 10 AM and they charge by the hour so it was a bit inconvenient!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was big and spacious with plenty of drawers, a dressing table and a little table and chairs. We had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable. There was a bus stop directly opposite the hotel with buses every 10 minutes to the city centre. We will definitely be back again!

Everything is very well arranged: the bed comfortable, the provision of fruit and yoghurt as well as cereal and croissant for breakfast, the bathroom very clean, and much appreciated in this cold, damp weather, the room really warm.

Our single night's stay in a warm, spacious, attractive, room was excellent value for money. Our host, Kavita, couldn't have been more considerate and helpful. Very much recommended.

We were made to feel very welcome. The room was warm and cosy and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel was easy to find and the free parking right outside was great! Had a lovely meal in a Chinese restaurant a short walk from the hotel recommended by our host. Would definitely stay here again!

We were extremely happy with this B&B/Hotel. Excellent rooms (numbers 3 and 5) which had a kitchenette and plenty of food for our breakfasts. The rooms were really warm, a little dated in parts, but so lovely to come back to at the end of the day. Bus service a few yards outside the Hotel took us straight into the City Centre. We visited a couple of local pubs for dinner (The Plough and The Anchor Inn - The Plough my favourite). Free parking was a bonus. Kavita was so helpful and welcoming. Thank you.

Excellent location on a tree lined avenue on the outskirts of Oxford with a bus stop conveniently located right outside. The city is also walkable and for those of us with no sense of direction (that’s me) the route is very straightforward and impossible to get lost! You can even take a detour through a beautiful canal footpath too.The room was sparkling clean, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was incredible and much exceeded our expectations with a selection of cereal, fruit, pastries and cheeses an absolute feast was had each morning.There is a handy car park for guests, the majority of roads are for permit holders only in this area.Nothing is too much trouble for the host. Once I arrived home I realised I had left my jacket in the room. They went above and beyond getting this returned to me.I would definitely recommend this accommodation and hope to stay here again some day - thanks for having us :)

Dans un très bel environnement de cottages, à 1/2 h à pied du centre d'Oxford (mais la station de bus est juste en face), cet hôtel de taille familiale est très bien tenu, l'accueil très sympathique. Les chambres, spacieuses et "cosy", disposent d'une kitchenette qui permet de prendre ses repas au besoin. A 20 mn, par le bus, on peut visiter le splendide château de Bleinheim où Churchill est né et la petite ville de Woodstock qui est un vrai bijou.

The location of this B&B is ideal for walking into town or along the canal and is also a short walk from Summertown where there are shops and restaurants. It is a lovely property and we we were welcomed warmly. We had a triple room which was bright, large and spotlessly clean. We didn’t have the breakfast but the room was well equipped for those who did with table and chairs. I would definitely stay there again.

We spend 3 nights at the Marlborough House Hotel, the room was spacious and clean, the staff was very welcoming and warm.

Great location, nice and clean, breakfast very good, a comfortable place to stay!

A very comfortable, very clean and well equipped room, with the benefits of kitchenette facilities (microwave, fridge, kettle and washing up). The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, with excellent communication pre arrival as well as during our stay, and there was free parking.The route is on one of the main roads into Oxford and the buses are very frequent during the day. A return ticket for two of us was about £7. We also walked it in 36 minutes, but it was probably a more leisurely 45 minutes walk into the centre of town, with an option of a riverside walk as well.. There are nearby shops and cafes in Summertown if you want to avoid the city centre. A great stay and would certainly return if in the area, but next time would book direct! Highly recommended!

Our stay was lovely very friendly and a big clean very relaxing bedroom with a big comfy bed . Great bathroom enjoyed a lovely deep hot bath and the shower was also great . Proper coffee and good position for the bus stop to Oxford .

We got the bus from outside the B&B to Blenheim Palace and walked the two miles back from town (our choice, buses do stop outside).The owners were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.My 12yo has asked to return another time, which we will.I'd recommend Marlborough House Hotel to anyone.

I absolutely loved Marlborough House Hotel. The photos doesn’t do justice as the room looked so much better than it is on the website. We had the room with the little kitchenette and it was very clean and perfect I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you Kavita for being so accommodating as I had to kill time after checking out and I was allowed to stay till very late after checkout while waiting for my husband and son to come back from Silverstone. Checking in process was smooth as I only had to fill in a form online. I thoroughly recommend. I would love to go back.

This B&B comes up variously as a 4 star hotel and as a B&B. We were booked for two nights, with our dog. The room was big, on the ground floor. Breakfast was a self-serve, with everything left in the room for a continental breakfast: cellophane wrapped croissant, fruit, fresh milk. The beds were a disaster: there was absolutely no support, and we could not face staying a second night. We also wanted a proper breakfast, so went out and paid for one. So, I would not recommend staying here. There are only five parking places, on a first come, first served basis. Otherwise parking is round the corner, paying until after 5 p.m. It is also much further from the City centre than I was led to believe. Personally I would rate this as a 2 Star B&B at most. The only plus I would give was the warmth of the reception by the lady on duty who was most kind.

Loved our stay at Marlborough house hotel! Comfy beds, exceptionally clean throughout the hoteland friendly, helpful staff.We took our bikes and cycled all over Oxford in the town, on the canal paths and beautiful meadows. The owner is absolutely fantastic and so welcoming.The bed was comfortable and the room was very big, warmand spotlessly clean.Good powerful shower.There was plenty of choice for breakfast .. continental style and lots of milk fore teas and coffees.There is a lovely calmness about the Marlborough guest house and would recommend it .Also near to a few local restaurants although you could bring in takeaways / convenience meals as there is a microwave and large fridge in the room.

It was cold for the 2 nights we stayed, so delighted that Marlborough House is really warm, room so comfortable and everywhere super clean. Breakfast stuff more than adequate, with the bonus of fresh milk in the fridge, so did not use cartons of long life milk, also provided. Certainly stay here again.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Marlborough house hotel. (12th April)This hotel is ideally situated for stays in Oxford and the surrounding areas. Our room was in the Blenheim suites.the rooms are clean, tidy and very spacious with lots storage space for your your gear. (The shower water pressure is fantastic best i've had anywhere). There is a small kitchenette that has a sink, microwave, fridge and bowls/cutlery etc, all you need for a short stay. The host Kavita is wonderful very easy to talk to and offers tips and advice when needed and will make your a stay the best she can.I would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Oxford

Welcoming on arrival and room very clean with comfortable bed. Tv a bit small but a small detail. Lovely kitchenette area with a microwave, kettle, fridge and sink which is great for being able to prepare your own meal.Good WiFi. A 15 minute walk to Summertown.Breakfast supplies are already in your room on arrival and included croissants, pain au chocolate, cereal selection,fresh fruit, tinned apricots, yoghurt and cheese & biscuits. All crockery and cutlery supplied. So all you need if travelling for work (which I was) or leisure (when we are allowed again!!!). Parking available on site on first come first serves basis.

Great little find, large en-suite bedroom with kitchenette and continental breakfast every morning- loads of choice restocked every day. Location was ideal for Blenheim Palace, walks along the canal into Oxford city centre and a short drive to explore the Cotswolds. Highly recommended

We discovery a gem in the Marlborough House Hotel when we decided to go to Oxford overnight to finish our Christmas Shopping. The small hotel nestled hidden on the Woodstock Road was ideal for our brief stay. There was ample parking for I would say 6/7 cars on a private secluded driveway.We were met by Kavita, a lovely friendly lady who was a font of information on Oxford. Booking in was easy, a nice touch of mince pies provided giving that homely feeling.Our room (6) was on the first floor over looking the main road, we were surprised how big the room was with its little kitchenette, fridge, microwave, big bed, table and chairs and a lovely bathroom with bath and shower.Although we did not walk into the city, I think it’s about 2 miles, Kavita did recommend we try. We wish we had now. This hotel is on the local bus route, the stop just outside on the main road and a taxi cost as little as £5.20.Breakfast was provided in the room, juices, pastries, cereals, muffins, fruit, yoghurts with tea and coffee, ideal and a sensible option I thought, all fresh and tasty. There were other things available like crisps and chocolates and canned drinks at reasonable cost to be paid for on check out.We found the hotel to be lovely and clean, smelt beautiful and the host and her staff welcoming, friendly and bubbly.We would certainlyreturn here again if in Oxford, we found a little gem, safe parking, a lovely room and genuinely nice people and more importantly, a personal touch and service you often don’t get these days.

A last minute catch-up with family in Oxford after we spotted the Marlborough House! We enjoyed a good stay in a really nice room with a lovely bathroom and mini kitchen. All the usual amenities but extra with the fridge which was great. We could have breakfast provided or make our own snacks,filter coffee etc. provided and even a microwave.Stayed many times over the last 3 years in a variety of hotels but this suited us really well. The hotel is well situated for walking or using transport and has free parking too. Nothing too much trouble for the staff with a comfortable atmosphere and good value for money! We stayed for one night. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spotless. I liked the small kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge as well as a kettle. This meant you can do more than make a cup of tea. The hotel was in a good location, with easy access for the bus stop, and close to the Oxford Canal and meadows for lovely walks. The hotel had a small car park but there was plenty of free parking in the side street with no restrictions at the weekend. We walked into town along the wide road lined with beautiful grand houses and college buildings.

We haven't had a holiday in quite sometime,we booked 6 nights and the room was nice. It was a good size well equipped and very clean. We stayed in the hotel during a stressful time, and could really relax and calm down again here. Even during the Corona pandemic, we felt safe and well taken care of. The atmosphere was welcoming, the room tidy, clean, and spacious. Internet access was easy and stable. We especially enjoyed chatting with the hostess, who was warm and the "soul of her house".

This is a lovely hotel in a good location with a very nice walk along the canal into the city centre.The service is excellent and guests are made to feel very welcome.The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious with good self catering facilities.My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next time we visit Oxford.

Booked a family room for 2-night stopover in Oxford. Friendly and super helpful reception; fab location with restaurants and pub a short walk away and a lovely canal side walk into Oxford centre. Nice touch having breakfast in our own family room too. Full size single beds for kids which they loved. Onsite parking a big bonus.

A lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean, well appointed and the kitchenette in each room was just brilliant. On the main road and bus route into oxford, so again, solo easy.Lovely place, great host. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Stayed for three nights with my wife and 5 week old son. Excellent communication before arrival and very happy with the whole stay. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Car parking in site was a real bonus and only a 10 minute bus ride into the centre of Oxford. Accommodation was a little dated for our taste, but was clean, tidy, well looked after and the bathroom was excellent! Can’t fault the accommodation or the hospitality shown throughout. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely be booking again on our next visit to Oxford!

We stayed for two nights with two young children. The b&b is located in Summertown, an upmarket part of Oxford, on a lovely tree lined road with massive Victorian homes. The room we had had a double bed and one single bed, with en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette which had a fridge,kettle, microwave and sink to do the washing up. All these appliances were very convenient as we were travelling with a baby who was just under a year old. The en-suite had a shower over bath. The room was so large that it also had a small, round breakfast table and chairs. Plenty of television channels to keep the elder one busy too.

We stayed at the Marlborough for 2 nights. The room was nice enough with a kitchen, seating area, bed and bathroom. The owner of the B&B (sadly I can't remember her name) was extremely polite and cheery and nothing seemed too much trouble.
